It is well known that exercise can improve your mental health and on today’s #WorldMentalHealthDay, I’ve taken some time to think about what mental health means to me and my clients.
Yes, physical health and fitness is so important (COVID was a very recent reminder of that) but being mentally fit is definitely something we can take for granted. Maybe it’s something you have taken for granted recently?
When I started my career, I always wanted to help improve the way people felt about themselves, help them with their confidence and improve their health and fitness. After all, for many clients it is about losing weight, being fitter and healthier.
What I’ve learnt however throughout the years of running my fitness business, is just how many clients do this for their Mental Health too. In fact, you would be amazed at how many of our clients would tell you how much their mental health has improved since joining us!
And actually, physical transformations are great, but now for me, seeing the mental health transformations – clients being happier, more positive and having brighter outlooks – it’s these wins that mean the most.
Any form of physical activity – getting out on a walk or run, team sports, yoga, HIIT workouts – can help alleviate stress and boost your mood.
So, here’s my challenge to you…
…What are you going to do today to make you feel good!?
Stay Healthy,
Troy.
